At a remote Arctic research station, four ecology students discover the real horror of global warming is not the melting ice, but what’s frozen within it. A prehistoric parasite is released from the carcass of a Woolly Mammoth upon the unsuspecting students who are forced to quarantine and make necessary sacrifices, or risk infecting the rest of the world.

Film Review

Val Kilmer again plays an environmental scientist (as he did in The Chaos Experiment) this time doing research in Canada. Apparently the glaciers are melting quickly. A polar bear he and his crew are tracking is found lunching on the brains of the corpse of a mammoth no less, that is surfacing thanks to the thawing.Later his crew is getting sick and crazy. He is filming some type of a confessional.Meanwhile some students are sent to study with him and his daughter goes along for the ride- even though he begs her not to go. When the kids arrive, no one is at the base camp except for the body of the bear. The kids spend the night but problems surface. The helicopter pilot is bitten by something, and so is one of the students- all over her body. Suddenly one of Kilmer's colleagues appears but she is ends up dying in a few minutes. The kids realize that there is some prehistoric bug that is infecting everyone. It went from the mammoth's brain to the bear to the crew and now to so…

This story if fairly entertaining. Certainly not boring and perhaps had a potential to be something even better. The acting is mediocre and the characters in this film are all forgettable. Nothing outstanding about any of them.If this film did raise one important and relevant point about ourselves it would be this. How willing would we be to sacrifice ourselves for the common good? For humanity, those we know, the environment, the earth etc. Or are we mostly too selfish to look beyond our own self-interests and our instinct for self-preservation? Or like one of the characters in this film would we be ruthless enough to sacrifice the lives of others in order to advance a cause we believe in?

I saw this at Redbox and thought it'd be my first Ghost House movie to watch. I thought it looked cool with the commercials. It turned out to be very stupid. The plot revolves around a group of university students who head to the Arctic to meet an explorer. But, the explorer has uncovered something deadly. A deadly parasite has just been thawed from the ice up there as a result of global warming. The characters are very stupid! They are scientists but they can't spell vertebrae? Even I can spell it correctly and I haven't written it down since 3rd grade! They spell it vertibrae. I am not even kidding. It says that on a piece of paper an hour in. The female lead constantly cries and is confused and is completely clueless as to what's going on. Then all of a sudden, she knows everything! There was one scene that bugged me. One person was dying and this unknown fluid starts seeping out of her mouth after she has died. The female lead decides to wipe away the mysterious …
